This painting was inspired by the famous Pokémon Pikachu! I decided to paint him as a cat version, hence PiCATchu.
Pokemons were a big thing back then and still are today! When they first came out, (well at least when the hype reached my small town) I remember thinking that I felt a little bit “too old for this”, oh I was wrong.
What I liked the most about them was the way they were drawn and their evolution, rather than the stories, cards or games involving them. Their cuteness and art style just hits the spot for me!
