A bit more about this painting!

Do you remember Tamagotchis? I certainly do! I used to spend time at my cousin in the summer and spring break. She lived in a bigger city, about 2h away from home.

Why that matters? My cousin Jenny had all the cool 90s-2000s gadgets that I couldn’t get in my countryside! One time she came over to my grandparents and introduced me to her Tamagotchi! It’s silly, but somehow you really get invested in taking care of this little electronic pet. You had to play the mini game to keep it “happy”, feed it, give it medicine and even clean it’s poop haha! It had very annoying beeping sounds, but somehow to watch it’s evolution to different forms was very entertaining and something to be very exited for!

Here, in my painting R.I.P, is the moment where all Tamagotchi owners felt a bit sad coming home to this image on the screen. It was after he passed away, after not being able to attend to it all day in school.

The good thing is, you could always start all it over again. With our life, we got only one, it is precious.
