For this Serie of 3 paintings (Spike 1-2-3), I wanted to do a tribute to my teenage self. I’ve always been the cutesy and soft shy type, but as I got into my teenage years, I felt the need to experiment to find my personal style.
The background colors of the paintings represent the softness, gentle self, while the spikes are screaming teenage rebellion.
At that time, I listened a lot to Punk Rock and Pop Punk music, which highly influenced my fashion sense. I loved studded belts, spike bracelets and overall a bit of a cute rebel look, which some part still remains part of my aesthetics up to this day!
